Child Kidnapped, Mother Fatally Stabbed in WA (Update, Child Safe, Suspect Surrenders)

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — A woman was stabbed and her 9-month-old child kidnapped on Monday evening.

Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said the incident occurred at a duplex in the 6000 block of 57th Ave. W.

An Amber Alert will be issued within minutes, he said.

Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said the woman was found dead at a duplex in the 6000 block of 57th Ave. W.

The victim’s child could not be found, and investigators believe the boy was abducted by his father, Joseph Lester, who is the victim’s ex-boyfriend.

Investigators believe Lester is driving a 1992 Chevy Caprice that is purple or dark blue in color with Washington license plate ADP3753 and oversized rims.

Anyone with information on Lester’s or the vehicle’s whereabouts is urged to call 911 immediately.
